1. First of all thanks a lot for coming on my blog Vikas, you made my day by accepting my interview request. Tell me something about yourself & your educational background.

Ans: Thanks a lot Jitendra for having me here. In fact, It’s my pleasure to be on your blog.

To begin with, I am Vikas, Vikas Singal. Aka Sam.

I did my schooling from a small town in Rajasthan, Shri Ganga Nagar.

In 2002, I manage to escape from the small town.

And I got admission in Malviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur.

And then got a job in 2006.

2. How much experience do you possess in SEO and what is your Fav SEO strategy?

Ans. I started doing SEO back in 2010.

So It’s over a decade now.

It’s hard to pick on fav SEO strategy to be honest.

SEO keeps on changing. So do we.

My favourite and most effective strategy have 3 parts.
(1) Get proper keyword research done.
(2) Make content based on those keywords
(3) Get backlinks from relevant sites

3. How long have you been in the SEO Industry? How did it all start?

Ans. Hmmm

In 2006, I got my first job in ITC limited. Bangalore.

They gave me a personal car, personal driver and great in hand salary.

Which was an awesome start for a person straight out of the college.

But I was not happy there.

I wanted something else from life.

And in 2008, I quit my job and started a marketing venture with my friends in Mumbai.

Again, the idea did not work.

In 2010, It collapsed. I was nowhere. I had not saving and no income.

On top of that, I was getting married.

Waooo..

It was bad.

I came back to Jaipur in 2010 and started learning digital marketing and SEO.

We started taking freelancing projects in SEO and digital marketing in 2010.

In 2013, SamBlogs.com was founded.

It was the beginning of an ERA.

4. Who was your motivation to start your own SEO Consultancy?

Ans.

In my case, It was not motivation.

It was my need. It was for my bread and butter.

And once We stated making decent money, It became passion.

And now we want to help big or small businesses, start-ups to grow.
That’s how it is.

5. Who are your role models in the digital marketing industry?

You?

Just. Kidding.

I have no role models in SEO industry as of now.

My role model played Cricket for India. He is none other than the GOD himself. Sachin Tendulkar.

6. What was your family opinion when you decided to leave your job & start your own business online?

Ans. Really difficult question to answer.

They were worried. They wanted me to continue the job.

I discussed my plan with them, they believed in me and gave me a go ahead to risk it.

I owe my success to them.

7. Tell us the story of, How Bloggers Idea came to be?

Ans. Have you been to GOA?

There’s a club called – TITOS.

They have a unique tag line which says- Titos- Where Else?

It’s simple.
I want to take my business to the next level.
I want to reach a new audience.

Where else, I would go?

It has to be “Blogger Ideas” as the first step.
It has to be you.

Makes sense?

8. When it comes to earning and engaging audience, which one will you prefer: YouTube videos or Blogs?

Ans. Both are incredible.

As a SEO Person, I am fan of “written content”. We can have 2 thousand, 5 thousand, and even 10 thousand words of content and have lots of long tail keywords in them. So we at SamBlogs.com prefer blogging over YouTube Videos.

Having said that, YouTube has got enormous potential. It’s still untapped for me.

9. Do you think that video content helps to improve the value of SEO?

Ans. Absolutely, it does.
In this digital age, people enjoy watching content over reading it.

So if you can create useful videos and then optimize them for SEO, It can really help.

10. Mentors are lifelines for success. You yourself play the role of a mentor to many. We would like to know who your inspiration is that you look up to.

Sachin Tendulkar. I can’t get over him to be honest.
The way he played fearless cricket. The way he stayed away from controversies. It inspires me.

He lived simple life and his bat did the talking. That’s how I want to live. Simple living with Big Dreams.

11. Favourite and Least Favourite Thing About SEO?

Ans. SEO is amazing. There’s, nothing I do not like about it.

If you ask me to choose a favourite, I would pick “Ranking Brand New site with SEO”.

It gives me a great feeling when start off with a site with 0 backlinks and then take it to the top of Google. That’s incredible feeling.

12. How much are you earning with SamBlogs?

Ans. Trust me, Bragging is not my thing. But if you ask me, I would be honest.

We did over 1 million USD in the last fiscal year though SamBlogs.com

That’s roughly over 85 thousand USD each month in sales.
That’s not my profit. These are sales. Ha ha ha
I showed you the data. So you know it.

Still A long way to go.

I wish to stay humble as we grow. That would be my dream come true.
