Google’s proposal to quicken up the internet on cell phones and devices is known as Accelerated Mobile Pages. The use is widespread. However, the customer’s ability to access AMP links in Google Search with iOS 15 is discontinued.

Accelerated Mobile Pages URLs in Google Search cease to work after the release of iOS 15 on September 20th. This development affects Google visitors who use Google Search on iOS gadgets running iOS 15 or later. Google is conscious of the problem and has states that it will rectify it.

Google AMP or Accelerated Mobile Pages launched in 2015. It is a technology for producing compact websites that smartphones can readily interpret. The internet media companies are popularly adopting the style, to allow easy access to content via Google search.

What Is The Original Issue Happening?

In iOS 11, Apple addressed some of these issues by reconfiguring AMP’s customized hyperlinks to reveal an article’s original URL when swiping left.

If you operate on iOS 15 and click on a website listing in the Google Search results, Google will not send you to an AMP URL. That is regardless of its existence. Alternatively, you require to go to that column’s URL on the main website or to a hyperlink to their smartphone application if you have it pre-installed on your system.

Over the last several weeks after the discontinuation of AMP links in Google with iOS 15, there have been reports of customers noticing anomalies in the analytics data. This is in relation to their AMP URLs originating from Google Search. It does not have a prominent impact on your visit. However, traffic to your AMP URLs may suffer as a result of the iOS 15 bug.

The Rise Of Safari Extension For AMP Links

There has been a growing demand for Safari extensions meant to prevent AMP pages, one such is Johnson’s StopTheMadness. Johnson speculated that Google was using a contextual blocker to restrict AMP connections on iOS 15. However, this is not the case, as Google official Danny Sullivan acknowledged in a tweet that the behavior is not standard.

Jeff Johnson, an iOS programmer, stated that there are no AMP links in Google search results. However, he mentioned that if he merely switches iOS 15.0 to iOS 14.0 keeping the majority consistent, Google search findings immediately have AMP links restored. He claims this with evidence to his iPhone, in the Xcode iPhone simulator, and a Safari Mac with the User-Agent faked as iPhone.

On Twitter, Google’s Danny Sullivan verified the problem, saying that they’re focusing on a particular flaw to iOS 15. He mentioned that they anticipate a quick resolution.

Some sites include AMP URLs and a phone app. Days leading up to this glitch, whenever you clicked on a Google search result, it would display the AMP site.
