The functionality builds on an experiment Google conducted previously this year. The company debuted a display of “Short Videos” in Google Discover, the tailored newsfeed seen in the Google mobile platform, and the left of the main screen on specific Android gadgets.

This “Short Videos” carousel is not the same as Google’s Stories, made available in the Google Search program for iPhone and Android in October 2020.
